In a Nutshell
Ian Finnie (Manager): "Residents and staff teamed up to raise £11,000 which provided park benches around the village site. How? We did the 190 mile Coast to Coast Walk. Those who couldn't walk got sponsored on the exercise machines in our gym, other residents assembled the benches in the woodwork shop, whilst staff and external volunteers used their holiday time to support the project.

"All this is a mark of a community that works together and is outward looking - it's an honour to be a part of it."

Bill Hodder (resident) achieved a 13,000 feet parachute jump with Village Nurse Chrissie Thornton. Says Bill: "You don't stop 'thinking and doing' in your 70s and that's why I'm here!"

Chrissie adds: "Bill is just one of the many villagers who has opened my eyes very wide. Supporting older people to achieve their dreams is a younger person's duty."
