“The Village environment is a positive, welcoming one. The residents are fiercely proud of their home/community, and it was joyous and encouraging to meet and interact with such positive and thriving residents each day”
– Occupational Therapy student, University of the West of England
“The biggest challenge for me was accepting advice, especially from the younger generation, how wrong was I, I have been treated with respect and kindness, I was wrong to think all of the youngsters don’t care, what a fantastic bunch of students”

Value of students
Working collaboratively with students from local Universities to each location, means that our residents receive several benefits:
- Reduction in waiting times to receive Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy support (compared to NHS)
- Increased general access to medical support/advice
- Chance to have an input in shaping heath promotions, classes and clinics that are offered in locations by students
- Improvements in mobility, balance and overall strength (increased independence)
- …and more!
“The placement here was so welcoming compared to the NHS, staff were positive and friendly and spent time with me, teaching me from the benefit of their experience… “
– Nursing Student, University of Birmingham
“I absolutely loved spending time with the Physio students, not only have they got me standing again they made me smile throughout the hard work”
