ExtraCare announces Matt Rickards as new Chief Executive
The ExtraCare Charitable Trust has appointed Matt Rickards as its new Chief Executive, with effect from 12th October.
Matt, currently ExtraCare’s Executive Director Operations, will succeed Mick Laverty, who is retiring after ten years as Chief Executive.
His appointment provides continuity at an important time for ExtraCare. Matt already has significant knowledge of the organisation, its communities and its people, and has played a leading role across Operations, Property and Environment, Care and Wellbeing and Finance.
The appointment follows a change to the previously announced leadership arrangements. ExtraCare and Kevin Beirne have mutually agreed that Kevin will not take up the position of Chief Executive. Both parties wish each other well.
Outgoing Chief Executive Mick Laverty said: “Having worked closely with Matt over the last five years at ExtraCare, including as part of the executive leadership team, I have seen first-hand his strong leadership and commitment to our residents, colleagues and the Charity as a whole. I have full confidence that Matt will build on our strong foundations and guide ExtraCare forward with purpose and ambition.”
