Giving through your salary
Looking for a simple and powerful way for raising money and improving the lives of older people? Take a look at our Payroll Giving or Microhive (Pennies from Heaven) scheme, and make your small change go further?
Payroll giving
Payroll Giving allows an employee to make a tax-free donation directly from their pay. No bank details are required to sign up and the scheme is easy to set up and maintain. Payroll Giving schemes are operated through Payroll Giving Agencies, appointed by companies to manage the schemes. There is also an opportunity for you to receive a Payroll Giving Charity Mark as an employer, to indicate that you are a responsible employer who celebrates good practice.
Giving through your salary is tax-efficient, as your money is given to us before your tax is calculated.
Microhive (formerly Pennies from Heaven)
Joining Microhive will make your staff’s small change go further. Almost everyone’s monthly salary will have a few pence at the end. It may not look like much on its own, but if your company signs up together then those pennies can mean real change.
How does it work?
Setting up Microhive in your office is really simple. Once you’ve signed up, each employee gets to choose whether they want to be part of it. Then at the end of each month, each payslip is rounded down to the nearest pound. The most you will ever give is just 99p a month, but together you can make that difference you are looking for. This donation is after tax – so we can also claim GiftAid on your donations to help your generosity go even further.
Microhive also work with pension providers. So if you receive a pension, you can give this way too.
