It’s Charity Fraud Awareness Week
This week (Monday 19th-Sunday 23rd October) we’re supporting the Fraud Advisory Panel’s International Charity Fraud Awareness Week.
The purpose of the week is to raise awareness and share good practice in tackling fraud and cybercrime in the charity and not-for-profit sectors.
All charities, including our own, are susceptible to fraud and can be targeted. Now – more than ever – charities need to be fraud aware. This year’s campaign has three core messages: Be fraud aware; Take time to check; and Keep your charity safe.
We’ll be using the campaign as an opportunity to remind and re-educate our staff on how to keep the charity safe from fraudsters. We’ll be sharing hints and tips on WorkPlace, joining the #charityfraudout conversation online, and signposting staff to the Fraud Advisory Panel’s resources.
