We are committed to supporting our employees' learning and development and our performance is monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We offer a wide range of on-going comprehensive programme of statutory and mandatory training. We have been awarded Investors in People - Gold Award.
Ivan Finney, Development and Training Manager, says: "Our staff say that it is our training that sets us aside from other care organisations, as it is ongoing, continuous, participative, fun and of a high quality. We constantly review the training we deliver and ensure that it is meeting the needs of our employees, our residents and CQC."
All new starters attend a Gaining ExtraInsight event - this is our cultural awareness day to help you understand ExtraCare's ethos and bespoke organisational values. We have a structured induction for all roles. This includes a standard training pack with all you need to know and buddies to help you complete this.
You will be assigned a 'buddy' when you start; an experienced trained member of staff who can ensure that your induction is structured, supportive and relevant to your role. This person is assigned to your first month to help you settle into ExtraCare as soon as possible.
