Another sporting event between members of Hartshill and Harpfield Residents Association and St Dominic's Court residents has taken place at the ExtraCare Scheme.
Seven teams of four took part in games including table skittles, basketball, darts, golf and quoits and points were awarded. There was also a general knowledge quiz.
The teams represented countries involved in the Olympic games – and the winning team was Great Britain, made up of Doug Leverton and Kay Webster from the Residents Association and Pam Malbon and Eileen Sheriden from St Dominic's.
Second was the USA team of Anna Cooper and Mary Grady (Residents Association) and Ruby Murray and Dorothy Harrison (St Dominic's), and third was the Spanish team of Peter Grady and Gill Hill-Bailey (Residents Association) and Sandra Bagnall and Jean Colclough (St Dominic's).
The event was organised by the Chairman of the Association Joe Andrews and St Dominic's Activity Co-ordinator April Harper, who provided special hats for the team members.
According to April it was obvious everyone enjoyed the event which is one of a number which help to strengthen the links between the neighbouring organisations. "They help to bring the communities together," she says.
Joe presented certificates to those taking part and St Dominic's presented certificates, Rufus badges and personalised pens.
