What do we raise money for?

We live in testing times: state funding is shrinking, care is becoming expensive and if you have a disability, such as the onset of dementia, life can become unbearable for you, your partner and your family.

Without ExtraCare, there would be 4,500 residents without a community that cares, listens and helps. Many residents would be lonely, some in financial crisis and all would be faced with care and disability challenges as they become older.

We are here to help with our essential charitable services.

Living well with dementia: the Enriched Opportunity Programme® (EOP)

ExtraCare's award-winning EOP supports residents living with dementia and common mental health conditions. We have a host of activities for people living with dementia, to enable residents with this degenerative disease to live a happy and fulfilled life.

The cost of running our Dementia Programme is £471,000.

Care Services

We supply care for our residents regardless of wealth. We work with residents to access care, and we supply our own specialist benefits advisors. Our specialist advisors can help them to access or update their benefits entitlements, guiding them through the process in complete confidence.

To cover the cost of our care services and meet a shortfall, we need £11,280,000.

Research and Innovation

Independent research has always helped us to innovate. Our latest research tests the impact of our unique model of support, on both the quality of life and cost of health and social care for older poeple.

To continue our research and innovation, we need £60,000.

Our Well-being Service

ExtraCare's Well-being Advisors (registered general nurses) empower residents to make informed decisions about their lifestyle and health via well-being assessments. Keeping older people independent is so important and our wonderful Well-being Programme makes such a difference.

The cost of running our vital Well-being Programme is £358,000.
