You can rent or buy an affordable home with inspirational lifestyle and award winning care.
Living at an ExtraCare retirement housing scheme provides you with more than your own front door. It opens up a wealth of exciting opportunities from making new friends to trying new things.
Our schemes are ‘communities within communities’ where everyone is encouraged to do as much or as little as they want to. Residents both within the schemes and surrounding area are able to enjoy an absorbing social life – becoming isolated is not an option but feeling independent and enriched is at the heart of each resident’s ExtraCare experience.
With a focus on maintaining active and healthy lifestyles, residents can choose from a variety of social and leisure activities to keep the mind and body stimulated regardless of age or frailty. There’s something for everyone and of course, there’s plenty of opportunity for taking things easy too and having that all important ‘me-time’. Why not give something new a try or give that old pastime another go?
ExtraCare prides itself on having a caring and supportive team on hand to assist you at every stage of your ExtraCare journey – from practical queries about your move to an ExtraCare apartment or bungalow to more complex questions, such as how we might assess your individual care requirements should the need arise.
Whether you move into one of our schemes requiring care from day one, or the need arises much later on, you can rest assured that our professional team will ensure that you get whatever help you need in a polite, friendly and dignified manner.
ExtraCare schemes offer you a real home of your own with your own front door opening onto a wide, well-lit corridor which is easily accessible by scooter if required. One and two bedroom apartments and bungalows are available depending on your chosen ExtraCare scheme.
Staff are always on site and the scheme entrance is secure. Residents also have a user-friendly intercom for door entry and there are security cameras on site.
All of our schemes, whether large or small, have a variety of facilities on site for residents to take advantage of. You’ll typically find a communal lounge for residents and members of the local community and it is a great place for welcoming visitors, family and friends. If you don’t feel like catering for yourself or guests in your own apartment, you can take advantage of an on-site restaurant or bar and if you feel like a spot of pampering, there is also a hairdressers.
In addition to the permanent facilities at your chosen ExtraCare scheme, there are even more ways for you to keep your mind and body active thanks to a regular programme of activities – some organised by ExtraCare, some organised by residents themselves.
