At ExtraCare we have unequalled experience in encouraging and supporting residents to keep their independence and get the most out of life.
Should you need care and support, our QCF (NVQ) qualified staff will assess your needs with you to ensure that your care is tailored to your requirements, and delivered within the comfort and privacy of your own home. This can range from a simple daily pop-in visit to regular help of a more personal nature now, or in the future.
Our Village staff team will of course respond in a serious emergency.
Care services are charged as required and costs vary according to the level of care needed. Our aim is to provide a flexible service that is affordable now and in the future. The Village’s own Well-being Centre is run by a qualified Well-being Advisor and is available to all residents, offering health screening, information and advice on managing a healthy lifestyle.
This holistic approach is part of the way of life at Hughenden Gardens Village, and covers everything from keeping a healthy heart, managing diabetes and asthma, to weight reduction, diet, sleep and exercise, as well as safety in your own home.
Recent research with Aston University found that ExtraCare's Well-being Service is making a real difference to older people's lives:
ExtraCare residents experienced a 46 per cent reduction in GP visits over one year, compared to people living in their own homes in the local community.
Unplanned hospital stays for ExtraCare residents were reduced from 8-14 days down to 1-2 days.
Over 18 months, there was a 64.3 per cent reduction in people with clinical level depression.
It’s good to know that, should anything happen to you or your partner in the years ahead, you will not only be surrounded by friends and neighbours who care, but you will have the security provided by ExtraCare’s professional team.
