The Enriched Opportunities Programme©, which is down to the
final five in the category of "Meeting the needs of older people",
supports residents living with dementia and dementia-related
conditions.
Regional Manager Guy Page, who is in charge of the programme,
said that he was pleased to be shortlisted. "With some luck, we'll
have more great news in November," he added.
The winners will be announced on 9th November at an awards
ceremony in London, hosted by Michael Portillo.
The event is organised by Inside Housing magazine and the
Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), and attracted submissions
from the length and breadth of the UK. The awards are sponsored by
United House, Apollo Property Services Group, Devonshire
Solicitors, Kier Building Maintenance, Welsh Assembly and The
Scottish Government.
Stuart Macdonald, editor of Inside Housing, said: "The quality
of the entries rose again this year so even to get this far is an
amazing achievement."
Research from University of Bradford has found that residents in
the EOP were half as likely to need to relocate to nursing homes,
and that they were also much less likely to feel depressed.
