Members of the scheme's Gardening Club, led by captain Lorraine
Langston, attended the Wychavon in Bloom awards evening at Evesham
Town Hall and were announced as the overall winners in the
Sheltered Schemes/Care Homes category.
Resident Harry Kent, who was at the ceremony, recently created
his own garden out of some spare land near his apartment. Harry,
who is 91, said that he had met the Mayor recently, who
congratulated him on his work.
Scheme Manager Heather Yapp said she was proud of the
hard-working Gardening Club.
"Many congratulations and thanks to all of them for their
dedication, enthusiasm and continued hard work," she added. "This
year's competition was a very hotly contested event with many
wonderful entries and Yates Court were thrilled."
