Staff, volunteers and residents manned stalls, including the
craft stall which raised over £300 alone. Other popular attractions
were the tombola, cake stall, bric-a-brac stall and several
raffles.
ExtraCare's resident gardening guru, Howard Drury, also came
along to support the scheme, and enjoyed cosying up to the
Grinch.
School Court's Manager, Lynn Bate, thanked all of the staff,
volunteers, residents and families who donated items or helped out
on the day.
Joanne Woods, the scheme's Activity Co-ordinator, said: "The
monies raised will ensure that residents at School Court have a
Christmas to remember!"
Administrator Lynn Keatley said everyone at School Court was
delighted with how well the day had gone. "Wow, wow, wow! Thanks to
the generosity of School Court's residents, their family, friends,
volunteers and staff plus everyone else who donated items or helped
make them for the Christmas Fayre - and of course turned out to
support us - we made a massive amount today. We had an excellent
turn out. Everyone worked so hard - it was a fantastic two hours.
Merry Christmas everyone!"
