Walking on the Wild Side at Berryhill

25th November, 2011

Residents at Berryhill Village have enjoyed handling some exotic animals.

100-year-old Minnie Fox, who is the oldest person at the Stoke-on-Trent retirement village, was eager to get to know all of the animals and even allowed the animal man to put a long snake around her neck.

As well as the snake and some birds, the braver residents were also introduced to a tarantula.

Activities Support Worker Michelle Knight said that everyone involved had had a great time. "It put a smile on so many faces and brought residents down who don't always want to join in," she said. "It was such a nice afternoon and the residents really enjoyed it."
