In a Nutshell
Dame Joan Bakewell visited the Village just after it opened as part of a BBC Panorama report on the future of care. The big question was - who pays? New Oscott is featured ten minutes into the programme as a potential national solution for older people seeking affordable housing with care - watch the programme here.

And New Oscott Village featured recently on the BBC Radio's national 'Living Longer' series - listen here.

Matthew Bell (Village Manager): "I am very pleased and excited about taking over as manager at New Oscott, it's a fantastic facility for older people to enjoy and the atmosphere and friendships that exsist within the Village are really inspiring. I'm looking forward to 2013 and the exciting times ahead."

Bella Shevlin (resident): "I came to the Village two years ago in a wheelchair from hospital, aged 97, alone and unable to use my legs. Now I'm in the gym four times a week and with the help of the staff and new friends walking again. You don't expect to get a new life at my age - but in this place I have."
