Join our traditions
Further afield, ExtraCare arranges excursions for residents,
friends and guests to attend a wide-ranging annual programme of
established 'favourites', known as our ExtraCare Traditions. These
include:
Choir Masterclass: Choirs brought
together from ExtraCare residents, friends and supporters perform
and entertain in one of our most popular traditions. Read about our latest

Residents and Gardens in Bloom:
Hosted across a series of regional events, our annual ExtraCare
competition encourages teams to compete in pottery, gardening and
art.
Come Dance with
Me: A 'day of dancing' in an afternoon competition
between villages and housing schemes followed by a Gala Dance
Evening - all taking place at Blackpool's famous Tower Ballroom.
Parasol
Parade: A regional event where residents decorate
parasols and parade them on a colourful sponsored walk, raising
money for their well-being and activities programmes. Read about

Stars in our
Eyes: Each housing scheme and village has the
opportunity to enter their talent in a show with a chance to
perform in front of an audience to try and win a trophy. This event
has been going strong for a few years now, and each time we are
amazed at the wide range of talents from our residents. We are
certainly excited to see what they will come up with this
year!
Symphony
Hall: ExtraCare's annual
concert to celebrate the festive winter season with entertainment,
songs, dance and comedy. Performers include celebrity guests and
our own residents!

Challenges
For those wanting to pursue even more
active lifestyles, ExtraCare aims to support and encourage
residents to get even more out of life with a selection of amazing
activities for the more adventurous. From looping the loop in a
glider, walking with wolves, performing on stage at
Birmingham's Symphony Hall or wheelchair abseiling, there
really is something for everyone!
