The awards recognised each housing
scheme and village as among the best in their field after
information provided by residents was voted on. There were 857
nominations, involving more than 3,500 residents from 402 housing
schemes and 162 managing organisations. ExtraCare was the only
organisation to win more than two awards.
Well-being Service
Our Well-being Service supports our residents to
regain as much independence as possible and to be proactive in
managing their own health. The Service has been recognised as
best practice with the following awards:

Our Enriched Opportunities
Programme© supports
residents with dementia and dementia-related conditions.
It is a pioneering joint research project between ExtraCare and the
University of Bradford and has resulted in a programme of support
that is now being rolled out across all ExtraCare schemes and
villages.
National Charity Awards 2009: Winner of Healthcare and
Medical Research Category.
The award was given in recognition of research and development
in the delivery of dementia support.
